چکیده

For testing against some restricted alternatives, in the light of the most stringency and somewhere most powerful character, the UI-LMPR tests are asymptotically optimal. The asymptotic distribution theory of such UI-LMPR test statistics is developed , and the same is incorporated in the comparative study of the asymptotic powers of the restricted UI-LMPR tests and their unrestricted versions (over the restricted parameter space).

Restricted Alternatives Tests in Competing Risk Analyses

CICILIA YUKO WADA. Restricted Alternatives Tests in Competing Risk Analyses. (Under the direction of Dr. P.K. SEN) The objective of the present study is to derive a union-intersection test statistic for subhypotheses against restricted alternatives in a competing risk situation with k causes of failure and p concomitant variables. Asymptotic properties of the proposed tests are investigated and...

ON THE POWER FUNCTION OF THE LRT AGAINST ONE-SIDED AND TWO-SIDED ALTERNATIVES IN BIVARIATE NORMAL DISTRIBUTION

This paper addresses the problem of testing simple hypotheses about the mean of a bivariate normal distribution with identity covariance matrix against restricted alternatives. The LRTs and their power functions for such types of hypotheses are derived. Furthermore, through some elementary calculus, it is shown that the power function of the LRT satisfies certain monotonicity and symmetry p...

Rank Tests for Independence — with a Weighted Contamination Alternative

Two rank tests for independence of bivariate random variables against an alternative model with weighted contamination are proposed. The model may emphasize the association of X and Y on items with high ranks in one variable (say X) and generalizes an alternative in Hájek and Šidák (1967). The model may be applied to both complete paired data and paired data which is truncated in one variable. ...

On the Asymptotic Behaviour of Location-scale Invariant Bickel-rosenblatt Tests

Location-scale invariant Bickel-Rosenblatt goodness-of-fit tests (IBR tests) are considered in this paper to test the hypothesis that f , the common density function of the observed independent d-dimensional random vectors, belongs to a null location-scale family of density functions. The asymptotic behaviour of the test procedures for fixed and non-fixed bandwidths is studied by using an unify...
